What To Expect

Manassas VA - Physical Therapy Expectations

1. YOUR FIRST VISIT

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will greet and welcome you. We ask that you fill out our new patient forms prior to coming in for your first visit, in order to save you time. These forms provide us with information about you and your health. You may obtain the forms online, print them, complete them, and bring them with you to your visit. Click to download forms HERE.

2. CONSULTATION

You will have a one on one consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for our doctors to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether our services will help meet your goals.

3. EXAMINATION

Following your consultation, a complete neurological and orthopedic examination will be performed to identify potential and existing problems. The examination will consist of testing your reflexes, flexibility, mobility, strength, and posture. This complete exam will allow us to determine how best to help you. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

4. X-RAY STUDIES

With Chiropractic services, your specific condition may require Dr. Hersi to send you out for x-rays to get a full evaluation of your spine. X-rays help her rule out more serious conditions or assist her in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.

5. REPORT OF FINDINGS

After discussing your history and your goals, completing your physical exam, and reviewing any x-rays or tests, our doctors will discuss their findings and recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires the care of other medical providers, the doctor may refer you to another specialist or practitioner as appropriate. A plan of care will be developed and reviewed with you. For our physical therapy patients, a report will be provided to any referring doctors. Our doctors are in constant communication with all referring physicians so that your plan of care and progress is understood and agreed on by all involved in your recovery process.

6. TREATMENT

Once you have been presented with the findings and agree to begin care, you will receive your first treatment. Most patients begin to see results from the very first visit. Our individualized approach to developing your plan of care will get you the most effective and successful outcome for your injury or condition.
